Final Leaflet

I have had some comlications with communication within my group and havn't actually got a group leaflet and when I questioned it got told that my photos wouldn't fit in with there colour sceme, which I was a little upset and dissapointed because it is the final outcome to have a team leaflet, but I had worked alongside of them in the studio.
From the beggining I wanted a simple leaflet consisting of either white, greys and blacks.
I had thought about small square thumbnail images but I like the one images because of the simplicity and boldness.
The word 'ion' studio just sort of popped into my head, I later looked up what the word means: "An ion is an atom or molecule which has lost or gained one or more valence electrons, making it positively or negatively charged."
I then had sub-headings of 'Fashion, Portraits & Beauty' because there are the make things that my studio would be shooting. Then in teh lower left corner faded out a false tel number and website.

I wen't to a local printing company 'Broadley Printers' and got one print to see how it would look, I would have liked the paper to be on thicker and shinnier, but I chose the one below for print.

The Shoot

Well overall I was rather happy with the way everything turned out, I thought everything was going to go horribley wrong.
Firstly issues with the free standing backdrop the fact that there wasn't one!
So Paul had to help and improvice and make me one, also I really would have wanted a grey backdrop and thought we would have had some in, should have checked ealier and got one ordered in.
I got everything set up in good time, just got two of the old elinchrom lights out the Mamiya P25+ the laptop, but I didn't wan't to shoot to the laptop, I just wanted to shoot straight o the CF Card since I had 6GB worth.
I had told the model to turn up for 12pm ish, but she was running an hour late. My frined Oliver turned up, who is highly into fashion came and was a big help to me actually.
He did great with some styling and direction. I got some test shots of him which are at the bottom.
So when the model turned up I had to work on her hair, makeup and clothes. I wanted to show I could work on a variety of stuff by changin the hair, makeup and clothes a lot.

Overall I was rather chuffed with my photos, I would have liked more beuaty shots, but the lens and lighting was playing up and the models skin needed some work.

Some of the images may need clicking on to full view because I added black surroundings, which won't be seen on this page.

Behind The Scenes

Well here are some of the 'behind the scenes' shots that my frined too of the studio fashion shoot on Wednesday.
I had do all the make-up styling, direction etc.

some of the inspiration work, but nore sure what positions the lightin set up would be for them, whther it's one light used, two, reflectors, invacone, diffusers?

Sorry for the late reply. I ussually use just one light and no reflectors or scrims. I try not to complicate my shoots.

Location Shoot

I decided to try some location work for the lighting project and take out the ranger location lighting kit, along with stands and brollys the Canon EOS 30D and 75-200mm lens.
I had forgotten the light meter which did make things a little difficult, setting up the ranger kit was easy enough, but it was very tempremental, sometimes it would flash and sometimes it wouldn't which was taking up a lot of valuble time. But I tried the best I could, I think because I was concentrating more on trying to get the lighting kit to work I could have concentrated more on other little things like shadows etc.
As for the model Lali, who hadn't done much modelling work, she was a natural and once the lighting started working she did great with the 'fashionable/moody' posing, which was great, she didn't keep one pose she moved positions.

I had taken hundreds of photos and there was a lot of sorting through them.
These were the final images chosen from ones which lighting kit had worked, the rest can be seen on my Flickr.
